Folks,

You have allowed the owners this dark car that moved into our neighborhood at the corner green house, at the beginning of June, to abandon their dark car next to Sundance Park to a ridiculous level of incompetence.

It seems to us, in our neighborhood, that our City of Louisville Police Department is playing a stand off game, between my reporting abandoned vehicles next to our City Parks, and City Code not removing them to keep our City, not only up to Code, but to keep our City for future generations.

Allowing new neighbors to abandon their vehicles, because you are bullying our neighborhood with public corruption of favoritism, is very much against the Ethics Code that City employees are to uphold, if they want to keep their jobs.

The dark car has been abandoned next to Sundance Park, since August 13...17 days in a row.   You are almost breaking the record of you allowing the Mr. Rooter commercial vehicle to stay abandoned for over 20 days. http://www.beaufait.com/darkcar.html  Check it out.  It shows the proof of this vehicle being abandoned for a very, very, very long time.

Here are 7 pictures of the abandoned dark car next to Sundance Park for just the past 7 days in a row.

Good work!!!!

I took these pics from some neighbors who live about 1/2 block down inside Sundance Park, where they constantly see this vehicle allowed to be illegally abandoned.  Neighbors pay taxes to see a park, not cars abandoned next to our City Parks.

I also took pics of the intersection of Sumac and W. Elm St., where there are 3 neighbors who look at this illegally abandoned dark car daily.

I took pics showing their car abandoned next to Sundance Park with no cars in their driveway at all.  What's up with that?

You need to know that I am not the only person, who notices our park being degraded by City Council and the Police Department.

If City Council wants to correct this situation, then City laws need to state specifically just how long Code Enforcement is allowed to let new neighbors break our City Residential Parking laws anywhere in our City, by letting them park forever and a day next to our lovely parks, thereby degrading them to a parking lot status.

But Code Enforcement, run by our Police Department, would rather bully our neighborhood and run it down, to spite the reports showing proofs of illegal activities allowed to continue for months on end.  Public Corruption...and City Council is bullied into letting the Police Department have its own way.  So very shameful for sure.

I will continue to report the wrong doings of those in charge of our once lovely City that used to be mentioned in "Money Magazine".  Those were the days.

Sincerely,

Bev Beaufait

It also prohibits acts of advantage or favoritism and, in that regard, prohibits special considerations, use of employee time for personal or private
reasons, and use of City vehicles or equipment, except in same manner as available to any other person (or in manner that will substantially benefit City)."

"Last night we heard from the owners of the truck.  It belongs to a couple who recently moved to Louisville and who just purchased the vehicle.  The husband and wife are a little distressed about why the selective enforcement against them.  Commander Kingston will speak with them and convey our assurances that this is all quite routine and innocent. "

This quote is from a May 25, 2012 e-mail to me from Bruce Goodman, Police Chief.  He knows the rules.  He applies them when he wants.  He is a bully.  He does not do his job that he is paid to do.  He should be fired on the spot.  If he did his job correctly, the first time he contacted the owners, he would not be  backed into a corner to save face.  Now, he will not do his job, just to try to prove he is correct, when he is so very wrong.
